Ripe for DevelopmentPosted by grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 1 December 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This tiny hamlet of Marchamonas in the north of the Axarquia is perched on a small spur. There is a small group of old houses and a new two story box that looks as though it has dropped from the sky. This has a freeze on it as it is an illegal build. As far as I could establish there are three residents here; a goatherd, a retired teacher and a retired Englishman. Their isolated life may be about to change though as the mountain behind could be about to be quarried for marble.
