Cow 'n' FogPosted by grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 5 December 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Carrying on in a similar vein to yesterday. This is at one of the entrances to Caynham Camp Iron Age Hill Fort, a place I walk to often for the views. Not on this day though.

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainA beautiful image. The fog gives to it the blurry background and the branches of the trees are not only a good frame for the spanish bull (it's a joke) but also a good subject. Well done. 5 Dec 2008 11:28am Les from Lincoln, United StatesAnother great shot. I do love that fog! And that bare tree is fantastic! 5 Dec 2008 11:58am Marcah from Quincy, United StatesFantastic work. The background is so moody and makes the photo. IMHO :) 5 Dec 2008 12:12pm Anthony Lambert from GermanyGreat image, very atmospheric.I just wonder if there´s a whole herd of her mates hiding just below the hill waiting to jump up and shout "Suprise" !! 5 Dec 2008 12:27pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI think the fog makes an amazing view...like this one! Very cool! 5 Dec 2008 2:23pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomAbsolutely brilliant shot grouse, but for the same thing that could have been a bull...! 5 Dec 2008 3:08pm peter from new york, United Statesbeautiful shot! has a great air of mystery and intrigue here. nicely done : ) 5 Dec 2008 4:13pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaIt looks bleak and miserable here - the fog has a nice effect, though. 5 Dec 2008 4:20pm JJ from Jersey City, United StatesWonderful capture, not the best of days indeed but the fog engulfing the trees sets a nice mood, and the cow peeking over is so cool 5 Dec 2008 4:51pm Roman from Thunder Bay, CanadaI love everything about this image; the fog, the gnarly oak even the cow. It reminds me very much of my childhood days back in southern Poland. Fantastic capture, Grouser. cheers 5 Dec 2008 5:09pm don from United StatesI think the fog adds a great deal to the appeal of this shot. The cow is an added bonus! Fine image. 5 Dec 2008 5:52pm Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United KingdomAnother cracking shot grouse..!!Brilliant!!..I do find the cow distracting though, maybe it should have been left in the milking parlour. 5 Dec 2008 6:36pm Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesWhat a unique combination for a photo. The tree is just beautiful. 5 Dec 2008 6:40pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis becomes such a charming image with the cow in view. You have worked that fog to perfection. Love this one. 5 Dec 2008 8:34pm Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandGosh, I haven't seen a thick fog like that for ages! Perfectly timed shot, with the ole cow:-) 6 Dec 2008 5:23am Anthony Lambert from GermanySAT 13th DECEMBER is "WHERE I LIVE" challenge day your house or maybe the view from your house Be there and please pass it on to others !! 6 Dec 2008 6:32am gavin hart from Gold Coast, AustraliaThe scene is simple but has a pleasant charm about it. The tree has great character and the cow adds a worthwhile touch of life. The mist of course is great too adding a soft atmospheric background. I like it! 6 Dec 2008 7:14am DarkElf from Perth, Australiaexcellent capture here Grouser! fantastic mysterious mood and the tree looks quite eerie and has a lot of character... 6 Dec 2008 1:57pm Bookfool from Vicksburg, United StatesI love it! The cow is what really makes this photo shine, in my humble opinion. You live near an iron age fortress? One of my favorite places in the world is the remains of an iron age fort outside Swindon -- Barbary Castle. The earthworks are intact, so you can see where the walls used to be and imagine the life inside those walls. 6 Dec 2008 6:58pm @Bookfool: 'You live near an iron age fortress?' Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesAnother gorgeous image. Love the mist, the cow...everything. 7 Dec 2008 6:34am Seraphine from San Francisco, United Statesyou make such beautiful pictures. 13 Dec 2008 7:07am |
