Plough and Harrow

This field is being ploughed for planting winter wheat. Interestingly the ploughman is doing two jobs at once as he is also harrowing at the same time. The harrow is to the left of the tractor and is dropped from a hitch on the side of the plough when he reaches the edge of the field. The tractor and plough turn round and as it passes the harrow, the plough hooks it on again so it is breaking down the just ploughed furrows.
The top of the low hill in the background is Caynham Camp.

That is a clever arrangement for getting two jobs done at the same time. Fine shot of this farm activity. He must have some real power to be turning up that much dirt and harrowing at the same time.

Fantastic rural capture the colors are superb, so interesting to see how the farmer does both plough and harrow at the same time, I dont think I have seen this before

Oh, you must go back and take photos of the wheat when it's ready for harvest, Grousie. I grew up around wheat and I love it, but I never really see wheat fields, anymore. Wonderful scene and I loved your description!

...and to answer your question from my yesterday's comment, no it hasn't. In fact, it got much colder. At the moment (10 in the evening) the temperature dropped to about - 25 C and with the wind it feels like -35 (they call it here wind chill factor). Towards the morning it supposed to dip below -30 C and with the wind it will feel like way below -40 C. It is very cold, even for this region, we don't get these kind of temperatures very often.
The weather is very weard recently... global warming anomalies ???

@Roman: Funny that. We are having the coldest start to winter for 30 years here. Re the dark history comment, there is an Iron Age hill fort on the top. The earth work still runs round the edge of it, with a line of trees growing in it.
