Mellow Yellow take 2Posted by grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 11 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Getting a bit closer to that blast of yellow from the oilseed. This was taken just over a week ago. The flowers are all gone now.

Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThat rapeseed makes for some amazing landscape effects which have an artistic unreality about them : so intense and you caught it perfectly here.. 11 Jun 2009 10:15am Tracey from Montgomery County, United StatesI like the contrast between the yellow and orange/red of the neighboring field - very vibrant colors. 11 Jun 2009 10:48am k@ from Paris, FranceAh ! The kind of palette-landscape I can stare at forever : love this yellow pattern (colza we call it in french), the sun made seed ! Bravo* 11 Jun 2009 11:10am Roman from Thunder Bay, CanadaOh my... I think this is my favourite photo today !! Those white puffs of clouds against deep blue sky, above the landscape of yellow and green...gorgeous !!! Compositionally, everything works perfect here. cheers 11 Jun 2009 11:24am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaAs exquisite as yesterday with more yellow, beautiful photos, I hope you have many more Grouser ;) 11 Jun 2009 11:46am @Lorraine: I'll have a rummage around Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, CanadaYour composition and colours are great. It looks like its from another world. Beautiful. 11 Jun 2009 11:50am dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaColours are absolutely stunning. We know the yellow flowers here as canola. 11 Jun 2009 12:24pm @dobbino: Not come across this name, must be the PC version Rob (Good for rhyming with granola though {the 'don't give me no canola in my mornin' granola' Blues}). See Wolfgang below. vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaLove the sky and the yellow canola... Funny how things change names, it used to be called rapeseed, but people got upset with the "rape" part of the name and here it was changed to canola, for you it seems to be oilseed. 11 Jun 2009 1:33pm @vu@granby - Wolfgang: Oilseed rape to give it the full Uk title. Canola must be 'colonial', not come across it before. Used for vegetable oil and bio fuel over here. Seems to have replaced mustard, the yellow crop of my youth. observing from North West, United KingdomWonderful - surreal landscape, the sky really gives this shot impact. ( I have some nice White borders for sale..... very cheap at the moment ). 11 Jun 2009 2:44pm @observing: I can understand that, there seems to be a glut of them suddenly ;) Don from spokane, United StatesA gorgeous and very tranquil feeling landscape. The yellows and the intense blue sky make for a very effective image. Well done. 11 Jun 2009 3:18pm peter from new york, United Statesit's a shame they don't last longer! either way, great that you captured it. seems like a very relaxing place. 11 Jun 2009 3:26pm @peter: Yes, they whiff a bit though being a member of the cabbage family. Sean Hallisey from San Salvador, El Salvadorbeautiful shot. i'm city born and raised, i had assumed you had changed the colors in photoshop or something, until i came in. thanks for the explanation, makes me want to foray into the countryside 11 Jun 2009 5:37pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaLink from the wonderful Wiki: proof positive! Well, almost anyway :). 11 Jun 2009 6:56pm @dobbino: Now why didn't I think of that. Well done Rob. I guess we aren't growing the canola variety here, or if we are they are keeping a low profile on it. dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesvery beautiful grouser -- very lovely indeed! 12 Jun 2009 3:58am Anthony Morgan Lambert from Bielefeld(old Pembroke Dock boy,Wales), GermanyGreat contrast between the blue and yellow(Rape seed is called "Raps" in German) 12 Jun 2009 10:37am Lesley from Lincoln, United StatesOutstanding!!
