Into the Big Blue

Down by Fuente Gorda (The Fat One) one of the springs that made Comares viable as a place to live despite being perched on the top of a limestone and granite outcrop. There was originally a fortified walkway from the spring up to the town above. The path still remains traversing the pillars seen on the right of the picture, with steps cut into the rock in places.

Lovely blue and nice rocks (you know I like a bit of rock!). I have been inspired by your shot yesterday to dig out my rays of sunshine shot from Dorset and try it within my new HDR software when I have a moment..it may draw something out. So thanks for the inadvertant nudge!

I like how the clouds fill this portion of the sky as a nice counterpoint to the rocky hillside. I can't imagine how a path would lead up through these rocks! A fine composition and very appealing image.

@don: In places it undercuts the limestone. There are fixed bolts for rock climbers there but I have never seen anyone climbing it as there are fiendishly difficult overhangs, the rock face that is. The path is perfectly OK
