What is this thing on the chains?

It's a bridge. The chains are fixed in the cliff behind.

I was just about to ask about the chains.. Is it a pedestrian bridge? Very interesting shot.

Hi Observing, yes it's pedestrian. You walk through the enclosed metal box. The lighthouse is on a small island. It used to be self sufficient to a degree with vegetable gardens. Oil for the lamp and other supplies were brought by donkey.
