Special Place

If I had been able at the time this is what i would have posted for the 'Special Place'. It is the view over the village of Comares in the Axarquia, looking west towards Maroma. Maroma at about 6,800 ft. is the highest mountain in Malaga province. The name Maroma means Esparto and it was so called because of the grass gathered on it to be woven in to rope. Just below the summit is the remains of an Ice house. where snow was collected in the winter, compacted and then brought down by donkey, in the days before refrigerators, to Ice cool drinks in the summer. I have walked the old Ice man's trail to the top and back. It took me nine hours including generous resting periods and left me and my companions exhausted.
I have photographed this view more than any other. It is constantly changing and I can watch it for hours.
