Back on top of the mountain. This is the view to the north east from the very eastern end of the village. The ruined walls in the foreground are some of the remains of the Moorish fortifications. The pueblo blanco in the centre of the picture just in front of the mountains on the skyline is the village of Periana. To its right is a notch in the mountains. This is the Zafarraya Pass. Beyond this is a high altitude plateau of fertile soil, retained by the mountains to the south, where many vegetables are grown. Past this are rolling hills and the way to Granada.
