This is on the hill framed in yesterday's picture. The whole hill has been quarried for centuries for its granite and there are spoil heaps and old buildings scattered everywhere. There was even an incline railway at one time to transport the stone down to the valley. There are also traces of an Iron age settlement. This is the remaining active quarry up here, making crushed granite chippings for road building.
