Obregado Madeira

The last shot of this series is another view of the Botanic Gardens in Funchal. I could go on but you have to call a halt somewhere. Here in the UK spring is whizzing by at a hundred miles an hour. Half way through the tulips and the apple trees are in blossom. At this time of year so much is going on I want to be in at least three places at once.
The clouds are burnt out in this one I'm afraid. I looked in my version of photoshop (an old one) and can't find a tool (shadows/highlights) to do something about it other than the burn in one, which is not satisfactory.

Very colourful on the ground with lots of things to look at with some nice detail, yes it is a pity about the sky, to much burning can make it unreal

@P J W Miller: Yes looking at it again perhaps I should have cropped some of the sky out.

a very beautiful view! Neat how they planted all these flowers. Looks like another beautiful spot to be. Nice capture even with the bright sky. :)

Super shot. I love folk who have the vision to plant patterns and know what they are going to look like from a distance.

Nice colours and compo shame about the sky, maybe it´s time to bite the bullet and get hold of a newer Photoshop..I got Elements 6 for Crimbo and it´s very useful.Although it can´t replace the old Photographers eye for a shot !!

Just thinking how many hours you could spend enjoying this garden, it is quite beautiful. A crop is the best solution, although the sky isn't a disaster.

Gorgeous...
Actually, I have just copied some old slides from this town... going back to the 1970's... how odd is that...

Lovely shot, i love cactus. dont worry about the sky. once you have burnt out the highlights you cant get it back, only thing to do is change the hole sky, but i think its really nice as is

That's a pretty impressive place. I like the sky. There's so much going on in the gardens that the sky is secondary and I think it actually serves to keep the focus where it belongs.
