Quality Quarry

Posted by

Zooming through space and time again, we are below the huge metal bull posted a while ago and in the now defunct sandstone quarry. The way the stone has been cut out leaving horizontal ridges, almost as though it is pleated, gives it an interesting, sculptural quality I think

How interesting... I don't like the look of standing near the walls of dirt there though :)

Sorry it has been a while since getting back...
Work is keeping me busy...

Weird but here, it's the clouds I look first : love their whiteness, they give such a depth above this giants !

The sculptured look is very attractive and raises questions about how they occurred. A successful composition.

@don: I think the sandstone is so soft they cut it with a saw and it used to be made into building blocks. So the lines are probably where layers of blocks were sawn out. I suspect the quarry became defunct because it was cheaper to use cement.

It looks Egyption..... I wonder how they did that :-0

It sure does. It reminds me of those towns that are built into mountains. If I look hard enough I might find some windows or entranceways.
