Soft Rock

A stretch of the soft sandstone cliffs at Covesea. The erosion shows the strata of the laid down beds. Softer parts of the stone have been worn away to create amazing textures, sea stacks and caves that burrow deep into the hillside.

This picture really shows of the bedding and slight cross-bedding so well. I think I've been here on a Geology field trip about 20yrs ago. Brilliant. Geology Rocks!
