...keeps on turning. Not quite yet though. This is the new big wheel in Birmingham almost ready to go. The maple leaves in the shot were Autumn gold but too silhouetted against the sky for the camera or the processing to pick up I'm afraid.
Fantastic point of view...love this one!

Whoa...making me dizzy!!! Where in Birmingham? The city centre? great shot!!
23 Nov 2009 6:56am
@Linerberry: By the convention centre, on the city centre side.
Vertiginous point of view, very original.

Yes, the perspective is great: it undelines the vertigo experience, we are here but on the top too.
Have a nice day Grouser!

Cool angle/perspective. Hope you'll go on it when it finally starts up..I bet one can get some wicked photos from the top!

@MrsAmber: Maybe, I might find those little cabins a trifle claustrophobic though and want to get out :0

Good morning, Grouse,
a gigantic representation and perspective. It pleases me very well. I like the sky in the back ground, too.
Dear greetings Christel

Great dof and colours !
23 Nov 2009 12:41pm
Indeed, your fans have stated it well: superb point of view!!! Simply Awesome! what else can I say? :)
I too am curious to see some shots taken from its hights once it runs. Will you satisfy our curiousity?
Thank you, for sending me the plug-in name. I will have to search for it....not that I need another addiction ;)
Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Nothing original to add, but the sky makes it I've had some luck bringing back yellow/orange in Lightroom/ACR HSL.

@ordinaryimages: Fill in flash might have done the trick, but it never occurred to me to try it at the time. Thinking about it though it would probably have created a whole bunch of unwanted highlights too. The colour is there. I can see it if I brighten the image and I could probably fool around and get it with a selection tool but.....
"Roll it!". Super perspective, Grouser - impressive shot.

Wonderful angle and composition !
23 Nov 2009 3:10pm
This viewpoint and subject has produced a very strong perspective. I like the strong, converging lines. Very effective image.

23 Nov 2009 6:53pm
@Jeff: 'Big' of you to 'Wheel' that one out :)
23 Nov 2009 7:04pm
Great perspective, really gives a good idea of the height of these wheels. Are you planning to go for a ride once it is turning and take great photos from the top.
23 Nov 2009 7:17pm
Creative angle to shoot! :-) nice job!!!
23 Nov 2009 8:06pm
Try making two copies of this frame processing one to show just the colours of the leaves and keeping it as the base layer, than add this frame as the top layer. Add a layer mask and just paint through the leaves to reveal the colour underneath, job should be a good 'un in about half an hour.
You know you want to.
23 Nov 2009 11:22pm
I bet you'll be the first in the queue.... I can see you going up in the world. A great low angle shot grouser.
24 Nov 2009 12:26am
I really like how you were up close and under this to take the photo. It shows how large it really is.
