Big Wheel...

Posted by
grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 23 November 2009 in Transportation and Portfolio.

...keeps on turning. Not quite yet though. This is the new big wheel in Birmingham almost ready to go. The maple leaves in the shot were Autumn gold but too silhouetted against the sky for the camera or the processing to pick up I'm afraid.

Thank you, for sending me the plug-in name. I will have to search for it....not that I need another addiction ;)
Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Nothing original to add, but the sky makes it I've had some luck bringing back yellow/orange in Lightroom/ACR HSL.

23 Nov 2009 2:37pm

@ordinaryimages: Fill in flash might have done the trick, but it never occurred to me to try it at the time. Thinking about it though it would probably have created a whole bunch of unwanted highlights too. The colour is there. I can see it if I brighten the image and I could probably fool around and get it with a selection tool but.....

dobbino from Cape Town, South Africa

"Roll it!". Super perspective, Grouser - impressive shot.

Great perspective, really gives a good idea of the height of these wheels. Are you planning to go for a ride once it is turning and take great photos from the top.

Creative angle to shoot! :-) nice job!!!

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Try making two copies of this frame processing one to show just the colours of the leaves and keeping it as the base layer, than add this frame as the top layer. Add a layer mask and just paint through the leaves to reveal the colour underneath, job should be a good 'un in about half an hour.

You know you want to.

23 Nov 2009 11:22pm

@Curly: errrr.....:)

Michael from United Kingdom

I bet you'll be the first in the queue.... I can see you going up in the world. A great low angle shot grouser.
