Oystermouth on the Gower in Wales and seagulls do a re-enactment of a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's film 'The Birds' just in time for ST. They really will do anything for a chip.

Will never forget that film - I trust you weren't taking these photos from inside a telephone booth?!! You really have captured the frenzy that occurs when the is food around for the gulls.

Brilliant shot - each bird is in focus and frenzidly focussed on the chips! You have captured the moment so well. Certainly my shot of the day.

I seem to recall that Hitchcock's birds were crows! was a joke! It is true that produce the same anguish, white or black! Besides the gulls seem to be aggressive when they are hungry! Nice capture!

In fact grouser, these seagulls also have the same depth as Hitchcock had in many of his films that appeared not exactly 3D, but extremely sharp with depth. I like your colour too.

@Michael: it was pretty hard to select where to focus and I needed a fairly fast speed to freeze the movement, so I was quite pleased so many of them remained sharp
Good afternoon Grouser,
ooohhh, what a tumult and confusion. Yes, it is reminiscent of the movie "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock. I think these birds are concerned only about getting the biggest chunk food. It is a color, very natural beautiful presentation, which I like. I hope that you liked the cake today, for tea or coffee. I wish you a funny Tuesday and thank you for your comment on my web page. Dear greetings Christel

@Christel: Yes I had two slices:)
Il ne manque que le fond sonore pour être complètement dans le bain de cette scène animée d'ailes !!
Bonne journée lumineuse et chaleureuse!

A fine action shot of the gulls in every conceivable position and showing all the variety of wing flapping! :-) Great shot.

Nice catch and title:)
12 Jan 2010 5:47pm
You really wouldn't take advantage of them with a chip...would you? : ] best...jerry

@ordinaryimages: Actually I have to confess it was almost cannibalism as they were fighting over a chicken carcass that some mad fool had tossed in their midst :0 Not me honest Guv. I just happened to be passing.
Great shot and details. Your birds are not so frightening as Hitchcock's, but surely can represent a vision of the heart and internal anguish.

Fantastic capture of the feeding frenzy! Love it! I bet you ate most of the chips, chuckling at them: "this one is....for ME,.....this one is for.....ME!!!, this one is ....ok, you can have this one ;).....
