Dropped form the sky into the centre of Birmingham. Antony Gormley's Iron Man leans disturbingly. Too many glasses of Iron Bru (Made in Scotland from girders) perhaps.
What a cool shot

nice juxtaposition between the large foreground figure and the background figures.

I like this very much - and most of Anthony Gormley's other work although the 4th plinth idea in Trafalgar Square last summer was mostly a damp squib. This looks like the Angel of the North but with his wings fallen off and lying to his left! (He's definately had too much of something!). A very interesting shot.

This is a beautiful capture. I like the detail and composition. This is one very impressive Iron Man :) He is massive in comparison to the people - great perspective.

I like the fact that nobody looks at it but "it" seems aware of their indifference ;)

An impressive image of Iron Man Full of reflections. Our eyes perceive their "fall frozen" to the floor above a small figure behind it. The other ants indifferent to the sculpture walk. An excellent composition full of nuances.
Please I apologize for my poor level of their language. I hope to make me understand something! Greetings Adela

He makes a fine icon for the city. I like the contrast between street people and this huge statue. Fine street shot.

Well seen, the contrast between the iron man and the people passing by. Great shot.

I like Gormely's work, always thought provoking, this looks like a prototype for The Angel of the North (without the wings).
15 Feb 2010 5:51pm
@Curly: I'm pretty certain it does pre-date the angel
A big and dominating figure.... I bet he's hard as nails too....! You did a fine job with this.
15 Feb 2010 6:44pm
He really does look like he has dropped in from the sky! Superb capture.
15 Feb 2010 7:15pm
well cool...is it permanent? If it's anything like "another place" togs will be queuing around the block and all hours of the day!

@Ted: Been there for years Ted
Good evening, Grouse,
yes, it looks as if the Iron Man looks at the top or at the windows of the building. Sometimes we see the remarkable sculptures in the city. The color reproduction is brilliant. Wonderful evening for you and thank you for your comment. Dear greetings Christel

What a bright and clear shot. I like the way you captured people in their daily life.
