Yet another Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival shot. These ones have a rather sculptural quality I think
Yes very posh scarecrows

Good morning Grouser,
It is an interesting and at the same time, funny discovery. The noble Lord seems to look a bit grim. The two in the background look very sporty. Colors and details of the general view is excellent. 5 stars *****
Have a nice weekend and all the best for you and your family. Greetings Christel

I think it´s al a bit "Horror movie" Just imagine them coming to life and running amok !!!!

Something makes me think 'Charlie Chaplin' and to, then, switch to 'Taxman' . . either would be unnerving to meet unexpectedly in a garden, I suppose.

A respectable citizen who goes to work while their children stay at home playing with his ball ... carefree yet! I love these performances mounted by anonymous artists! Best regards, Adela

WOW! These are fancy looking scarecrows.... upper class maybe... from a different 'breed'... :)

The main guy reminds me of the man who does my VAT inspections. That is a scary thought! The other 2 look like extras from "Return of the Zombies"!

These one are particulary a great success, indeed...

I just knew the Tax man would be coming sooner or later...... but isn't this Jake the peg leg ? That's a weird venue that you were at.

They would have a great second life in a horror flick, but yet at the same
time are incredibly endearing. They seem to have real life in their stance
as if on a mission.

he he .. what a funny find ;)

I admire the polished shoes they have! Designed to catch, when the taxes have not
been paid? :)

I like how you lined them up in this shot so we look down the group. Very interesting art work.

Yes, definitely a too scary to be real (or is that too real to be scary?) look about the bureaucrat!
17 Sep 2010 4:05pm
The first guy in the suit to me looks like a cross between Charlie Chaplin and The main character from the Friday the 13th movies

Well found, nice shot.
17 Sep 2010 9:33pm
It's fantastic and it's got a bit of the zombie about it.
17 Sep 2010 11:20pm
Nice shot of this "beaurocrat" who is wearing "odd" trousers or an off-jacket..whichever way you look at it..
I thought the English were very particular about dress code..not the scarecrows may be..:):)
17 Sep 2010 11:37pm
How funny. They take on a life of their own!
18 Sep 2010 4:48am
Someone had a great deal of skill...
well beyond the scope of the normal "scarecrow." Marvelous sculptures !!
