Haw Pha Bang

Posted by

Luang Prabang is a wonderfully laid back city and beautifully unspoilt thanks to its World heritage status. It's a joy to wander round it. This is the Haw Pha Bang in the grounds of the Royal Palace museum. Amazingly it's a new building, not quite finished (They were still painting the gold and red interior when we visited) It is being built to house the Pha Bang, an 83 cm high Buddha image cast in gold, silver and bronze alloy, which is kept in the palace itself at the moment.
