One of the ways young people are educated, especially the many orphans left by the war, is by training them in traditional arts and crafts. the work produced is sold to finance the schools, where the pupils also receive a certain amount of more general education.

I suppose it makes sense-give them both a general education, and a vocational skill, and get the tourists to pay for it
