@Thea: Not 100% sure but I think it is the way the building is constructed and reflects the different materials used. There seems to be stone, brick and rendering for the panels.
I like the colorful construction of this building with its colored blocks and fine details. Nice angle for this shot. Well done.

This is just beautiful, of course the light helps a lot. Could you imagine this under the grey skies of N England ?

Yes, very fine - although it needs the local light to really shine, I reckon. Such design does not travel well to a damp, dull London.
