A bit of beach art for ST
Keeping with the silly Tuesday theme I have been musing on the conundrum of quantitative easing. Here in the UK the Bank of England announced a fresh injection of cash into the economy last week of 75 Billion. This is on top of the 200 billion squirted in at the first crisis. Now my understanding is that in the UK (unlike the US) a billion is a million million. With a population of sixty million or so the total yields about 4 million each for every man woman and child in the UK with enough change left over to build a few schools and hospitals on the side. As the money is supposed to increase spending and investment, I'm wondering where my share has gone. I certainly haven't seen a hint of it :)
