Frigiliana Panorama

Posted by
grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 5 November 2011 in Architecture and Portfolio.

One of the main crops on the Andalusian coast used to be sugar cane and there are many remains of mills still scattered about. There is a particularly large one in Frigiliana. The shot here shows the hill above the mill and the acequias (water channels) that bring water from high upstream to cascade down the hillside and power the mills crushing the cane to extract the sugar.
