Back from the beach is this strange lumpy landscape of tree covered dunes
It makes you wonder if thye landscape is man-made. The only other thing I can think of is "Terminal moraine"-big boulders pushed down by ancient glaciers. Intriguing

It is strange, but understandable, being so close to the sea I know what lumpy dunes look like. However, I've never come across trees taking root in salty sand dunes!

@Curly: I suspect they have enough height that the salt is long since washed from the sand here
An image that reminds me of a set of obstacles. A biciceta and driving is complicated. It is a delightful picture-linking the verticality of the forest with undulations. perfect POV. A hug, Adela

Superb composition and light - a truly unique and mysterious place - let's hope it is preserved in this natural state.

Amazing bumpy terrain beneath these trees. A fine, unusual shot in the woods.

This is very beautiful and unusual, making for a fine capture. Hiking this would be a different kind of fatigue, I surmise.

@Rick: There's a nice easy path winding through them :)
Ein sehr schönes Foto.

It looks like the pine needles have blanketed the "lumpy dunes" and given them lots of protection from the salt, but interesting that they took root in the beginning. An excellent documentary shot!

Possibly 18th century "Pillow Mounds" used for rabbit farming,I know there are some in the area..Somewhere.

@Jeff: There's an awful lot of them Jeff. Must have been a rabbit megalopolis :)
Terrific composition, what an unusual sight
