La Salida de la Sardina

Posted by

We happen to coincide with the Fiesta of the Funeral of the Sardine. Led by the town band composed of children of all ages the Sardine progresses round the town. The band has a repertoire of four tunes, one of which is 'Roll put the Barrel' which they play with panache. The are accompanied by a hoard of men dressed as women. A couple of these spot me photographing them and rush over, grabbing me and forcing me to feel their firm breasts. Finally the procession reaches the beach in the centre of town where the poor sardine is burnt to the accompanying distraught wailing of the 'women'
Sorry about the quality but I thought the story worth telling :)
