@Paco Díaz: I think that's what makes it interesting. If you want to see another variety in more detail and close up have a look at the link in my reply to Curly's comment.
Lovely colours on this one, great

Why do I never see any butterflys like these? Do they have special habitats?
10 Jun 2012 8:18am
@Curly: It's in Spain :) There are two varieties that I have seen. The other in a rather better picture is here
A beautiful butterfly in the middle well incorporated. of paper with flowers! . An extraordinary composition. A hug, Adela

Bien camouflé le papillon! Mais c'est son collier aux pierres précieuses bleues qui a trahi sa présence!
Bon dimanche lumineux!

Lovely markings, perhaps a slightly tighter crop grouse...?
10 Jun 2012 10:04pm
@Michael Fresh: I could say I wanted it in the context of its surroundings, but I will be truthful an admit that the butterfly is ever so slightly soft and a tighter crop would have emphasised this :)
un papillon caméléon, il est magnifique...

Almost disguised in the middle of the plants. Very beautiful butterfly. It is interesting that I found this species at 2000 meters in the North of Spain, so it spreads well throughout all the Iberian Peninsula.
