Holiday Hardware Hell
A sad story of 'lectronics and liquid
So here we are in Andalusia (not in this picture, but in recently passed time) in high summer with the thermometer hitting 40 C and more. To take a break from beach and swimming pool we do a river walk, wading through narrow gorges and climbing waterfalls. About 1 click above a particularly steep scramble I notice my bum-bag is missing. Leaving my rucksack with Mrs G, I retrace my steps . There is no sign of it where I thought I might have lost it, but just below are a Spanish couple and in response to my babble and desperate mimes he produces my bag and earns my profuse thanks. Sadly it has been in the water and possibly over the falls and when I get the camera out it is soaked. Despite leaving it for several days, waiting for everything to dry out completely, when I switch it on, the P7000 is dead as a doornail. The most expensive walk ever...sigh.
Two weeks later to the day Mrs G and I are in a bar and I'm looking at the blog with a view to visiting you and updating things when Mrs G knocks over a lemonade bottle spilling it over the net-book. You can guess the rest.
