Love the low pov and the silhouettes which really helps to show off this dramatic sky Grouser

To be honest(I've just had an argument with someone over honesty, so I'm more honest than usual this morning..)To expose for the lovely skies, you end up with a black foreground. Yesterday, I don't think it worked, this one does work because the pollarded tree is actively part of the composition of the shot, rather than just being something in the shot-if that makes sense.

@CElliottUK: Yes:) I agree. I did try to pull back shadow detail in yesterdays shot but that was as good as it got. However I would choose lack of shadow detail over burnt out highlights in most situations I think and in yesterdays shot the bulging cloud was just too good to miss
A wonderful one !!

Really beautiful sky, Grouser. Not to butt in, but I saw your discussion with Chris there. Perhaps you should experiment a little with HDR if you want to try and include some foreground detail. It might even be cool to just take another shot exposed better for the foreground and combine the two in the Photoshop. Anyway, just some thoughts.

@Jason Politte: I used a one shot HDR simulator on these shots to pull back a bit of shadow detail. I'm too lazy to take a tripod with me and these old hands don't seem steady enough to stay in the same place, for multiple exposures. All the ones i have tried have an irritating softness to them. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it :)
Le ciel est superbe, j'aime beaucoup. Cet arbre en contre jour se découpe très bien, une excellente photo.
Have a good day.

Best one yet! Wow.
I sure relate to being too lazy to lug a tripod around. Most of the time the wildlife I like to photograph would be long gone before I got it all set up. Landscapes, however tend to stay in place, but I'm still too lazy. ;-)

That amazing sky looks great! The interesting horizon makes a great base for this shot. A beauty!

I think you're hogging all the clouds ... Another wonderful sky and a fabulous tree silhouette !!!

Love the silhouettes in this image. It is another wonderful sky.

I hear (read) what Chris was saying, my personal take would be to completely black out the foreground to a silhouette giving the sky the full stage. :0
But it's nice anyway.
