Excellent shot - the power of nature.

Oh dear this is sad, I hope you live on the higher ground.
More splashdowns than touchdowns at this rugby club!

@Curly: Mrs G plays tennis down there and its where we tried out the canoe not so very long before this shot was taken. It is the flood plain and they haven't made that all too common mistake of building on it, so it's doing what it's supposed to.
Sponsored by the local water authority, I imagine . .

That would be one muddy game on that rugby pitch.a scene that´s well known in the Uk this year !!

@Anthony Morgan Lambert: water polo could be more appropriate :)
A very nice view of the flood, but still dramatic for the people who live it. Excellent composition with a beautiful foreground.
Have a nice day.

Forget the gum-shield, I'll bring a snorkel !
18 Jan 2013 11:32am
Wow, I'll say they did. Hope the rugby club's building didn't receive too much damage. Cool shot, Grouser!

@Jason Politte: It's the flood plain Jason so if they had any sense the clubhouse would be on stilts. The Tennis clubhouse is though not the courts:)
The damage caused by recent flooding will take so long put right.

An interesting shot that shows so well how the trees have been flooded and that the river is clearly out of its banks. Well done.

Obviously you English are trying to emulate the muddy conditions of that famous try by the great Gareth Edwards down the old Arms Park
Can I suggest respectfully you don't need to water the pitch so heavily!):-

@Ted: It's automatic. Water supplied courtesy of the Welsh hills :)

@Ted: How's the snow down your way Ted? We have about 10cms here so far

Lots of rain in your country ... I see this all flooded ... I hope that nothing happens ... Best regards, Adela

Ha! I can't believe you still have some green grass left!

Wow, a great vantage point for this dramatic bit of scenery.

A good place for bog-snorkelling!

You have had a lot of rain. This really provides a picture of how much rain there has been. Great perspective. I feel sorry for all the people who have their homes damaged.
