It's a bit prettier than out gargantuan place up here. I'm amazed at how much my household is recycling these days, but it's surely an indication that we do too much wasteful spending?

@Curly: Yes a society obsessed with stuff and an economic model that relies on it. Unsustainable in the long term I think, as we are beginning to find out.
Now this is interesting. A place where specialists collect trash and end up being works of art! A hug, Adela

Excellent image on a very interesting topic. Recycling is very helpful, unfortunately our children understand very late, they always want the latest phone or the latest tablet. Society is always pushing for consumption.
Have a good Sunday.

They can turn the facility into a gallery in the off hours.

This is a topic of great interest to us. Recycling is greatly important in protecting the environment. Anyway, this facility seems to be cool.

A very interesting interior shot of this place with all the recyclables. Our culture has been very slow to adopt the idea of reusing any thing.

I have a passion for this... I volunteer my time every weekend at a community recycling project. Would like to know more! Our Local recycling centres all have shops to resell usable items here in Devon.

@Kate: This is the recycling centre for Cortez island in BC. This part of it deals with glass, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. On the same site is metal recycling and a free shop where people leave unwanted stuff, clothes, books, tools, ornaments, toys etc. In fact anything that is reusable or still in working order goes there. Presteign on the Welsh border, here in the UK has very good recycling run by the local community and they are working towards zero waste. May be worth a look on google for more info.
Hay Grouser - good to see you still posting!

@Linerberry: Long time no see. Yes still posting and still supporting ST :)
It is encouraging to see how busy this place is - I like when recyclables are put to further use.

@Ted: arrives Wednesday :)
Everything has a place. I like the orderliness of it. The paintings on the wall make it interesting!
