This is the other safe anchorage in the area of Desolation Sound discovered by Vancouver on his exploration and mapping trip
Gotta love that place name . . sets the imagination running !

Have to love all of that wood. The whole place looks so hand made and loved. The perfect general dealer who sells everything, a la Cartwrights.

@Curly: Yes it's great that stores like this still exist. We have a traditional hardware store here in Ludlow that stocks just about everything and puts somewhere like B&Q to shame
Amazing, after all those months at sea finding a safe anchorage and a store !

I like all the unpainted wood in the walkway and the store. A fine shot of this important source of supplies.

There was a Mr Vancouver?-well, I've learnt something today

@CElliottUK: Captain Vancouver. He charted the west coast from Seattle upwards with the help of two Spanish boats. Hence a number of places, such as Cortez Island have Spanish names
What a friendly little place. I love the name! I really like the weathered wood.
