So here we are at Durlston Head. This is the castle built in the 1860's by George Burt, a man ahead of his time as will be seen.
Good over all view, although that small turret looks rather precarious up there!

I did not realize they were still building castles in the 19th century - I always thought of castles as medieval structures.

@Ferret: The Victorians had a taste for pastiche and adapted many architectural styles to their buildings, such as faux timber framing. Lots of nouveau rich industrialists built large castle style houses on their new estates. It was all appearance really.
What wonderful stonework for this castle shot. It's in a beautiful spot with those white cliffs beyond, but the horizon police may give you a warrant. ;D
