Back in the Dovedale Valley. All along the walk various dead trees and stumps are studded with hammered in coins. Note the convenient stone hammer.

They cant have wishing wells as the locals would fish out the coins. Wishing trees more common up North. You would have thought copper coinage would kill a live tree.

Great shot. A couple of years ago Mrs Bill and I walked along Dovedale Valley and saw these tree stumps. I'm sure I have a similar photo somewhere on my computer.
