Not so much silly as STrange. I have no idea what the function of this vernacular building is :) It's in the small hamlet of Pido
that wood is nicely weathered

It is quite attractive and heavily designed. It looks very old.

Could be an indigenous method of rat-proof grain storage . . I've seen them in Knightsbridge.

@Ronnie 2¢: presumably covered in gold leaf and swarovski crystals :)

Ronnie is right - this is a rodent-proof grain storage shed. I've seen them in Galicia, too, though NEVER in Knightsbridge ... ;-)

I think it is a Texture Stop for photographers. Wonderful character to it, and some superb scenery all around.

Estos edificios se llaman horreos y estan destinados para alejar y consercar las verduras y el ganado lejos de la humedad de la tierra. Son construcciones tipicas de Asturias y Galicia en España

AlmoST makes me think this is in an area that is or was prone to flooding. Beautiful warm colors captured in this shot!

I think a Galician horreo. They are constructions that serve to store the grain. q = horreo + galicia & oq = orreo + galicia & aqs = chrome.1.69i57j0l2.12900j0j7 & sourceid = chrome & ie = UTF-8

Definitely used for storage underneath. I wonder if it is a smokehouse or something like that. I like the textures.
