Pipe

Posted by
grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 11 April 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

There is only one place you can walk unescorted in the park and that is along a stretch of coast (Coming later). One other walk can be done but it was fully booked by the time we found out about it, so we were confined to a coach trip in a circuit through the recent volcanoes. This is a volcanic pipe. The reflections in the sky are because we were not allowed to leave the coach though it stopped at the most interesting points.

@Devi: Not dead, only sleeping :) They are constantly monitored with sensors so there would be plenty of advanced warning of renewed activity

An eye-catching formation with excellent textures that you've captured!! Especially through a window!

it's a very unusual scene to say the least

i like the effect of shooting through the window and i often do it even when i'm able to shoot the scene without the window. shooting through the window give a 'toy camera' effect to an image. a softness that i really like.

That is such an interesting volcanic formation. That must have been a really interesting trip through the active volcanic area.
