Dope

Posted by
grouser (Ludlow, United Kingdom) on 3 December 2018 in Documentary & Street.

The shops in La Latina are rather odd, many with second hand and period pieces, reflecting the fact that there is a major Rastro (Flea market) in all the streets on Sundays. Despite its name this one is a clothing and bric a brac shop :)

Just the place to look around. Always worth trying to find something interesting.

Looking at all those skulls means I would be a tad reluctant not to buy something there for fear of a curse being placed!

3 Dec 2018 11:35am

@dobbino: It didn't lure me in either :)

Marjolein from Westvoorne, Netherlands

The name alone would entice me to see what's inside. :-) A great window display.

False advertising or not, a good find and street shot.

3 Dec 2018 1:00pm

@Rick: I guess the real thing is popping up all over the place there now your government has adopted a more civilised attitude to herbs :)

Rick from Toronto, Canada

I don't partake (never was a smoker of anything) but I do approve of the legalization and now there are a few extra whiffs here and there in public, but otherwise no noticeable "problem"... they are finally treating us like adults in Ontario, serving alcohol in grocery and corner stores as they have long done in much more socially advanced places like Quebec ;)

And... by "serving" I mean offering for sale. Wouldn't want to give the wrong impression that Canada has gone completely off the rails.

3 Dec 2018 1:16pm

@Rick: Oh I remember the government Liquor stores from my time in Canada in the early eighties. A quaint idea I thought :)

Devi from Chennai, India

Looks pretty interesting..Love those dresses hanging up there on the right with checked borders !

Judging from the items in the window, I would probably pass it by, and for sure if they really did sell marijuana, but cool photo.

3 Dec 2018 3:43pm

@B. Thomas: Yes I get the impression its for heavy metal heads, not my cup of tea either :)

Gérard from Allauch, France

Such an interesting place. The skulls around the sign add a nice touch! Sounds like a great place to go shopping, especially the Flea Market!
