High-quality street art that’s almost photographic-like.

@Don: probably is from a photo projected on the wall
Wonderful portrait and other details...Looks so three dimensional..
and to see that some people call themselves Artists..paint an eye here, a leg there and some abstract designs and call it modern art and give the piece a title like Roving Eye..etc. etc. and the gullible spend millions to buy these idiotic creations !!( I am against all abstract art which are titled ! Picaso himself has admitted that he was hoodwinking people !! )

@Devi: We have to agree to disagree again then :) This is an extremely skillful piece of photo-realism, but I would question its status as art, It is after all just a blown up rendering of a photograph.
I love the realism of this street art. You have chosen your viewpoints so brilliantly

:) A blown up photograph ? . Aw! That does make a difference.
There are two schools of thoughts here too. There was an artist called Singhal..who used to paint portraits very very realistically..with a photograph effect and I have read some Modern Artists calling him Calender Artist. But...anyone who can create a life like image is a real artist I feel !

@Devi: Photo-realism is more the work of a crafts-person, though an impressive one with great control of paint. In my view for something to be art it needs to change/expand our way of seeing/interpreting the world. I guess you could say this image could be making a point about the slick airbrushed image we are sold to encourage us to consume, though that might be a trifle tenuous.
Art is a tool for expressing the imagination and investigating the world around us and has been since the very first mark made by early man.
such beautiful frame, colors & textures!

@B. Thomas: It certainly got me and I suspect many others to visit the area
This is a fabulous image. I really like the color and shadowing. I like how the bricks in the background create more dimension. I missed a few since I was away and need to go back through and look at the ones that I missed. A spectacular series!
