I have no idea why it is called this but this pretty wildflower is spreading nicely on our back lawn which I have left without mowing it for the summer in order to encourage wildflowers to colonise it

Before posting tis comment OI went to google and read about this and saw the images. It attributes the hawks' strong vision to eating of these flowers and seeds !

These are really pretty! I think that is a wonderful idea. There are so many beautiful wild flowers and they will encourage bees to come. We desperately need to help the bees. I planted a bunch of wildflower seeds in a large barrel planter and I have enjoyed them all summer.
